Sealing and repairing tarmac

Unfortunately, asphalt driveways will not remain smooth and black forever. Unless your driveway is properly maintained the effects of heat, ultra-violet rays, and substances such as salt, oil, petrol and grease will take their toll. If you are willing to put forth a little effort, you can prevent these problems by sealing, protecting and maintaining your tarmac areas.

Although Tarmac can be an extremely durable surface, some tarmac driveways after a period of several years or so generally begin to lose their distinctive colour and fade. This is generally through trafficking and the passing of seasons. At paving Shield we receive many questions asking us whether a tarmac drive can be restored back to its former glory.

The answer to this is YES!

Acylic Paving Sealers

The Acrylic pavement sealers that we apply are a premium quality 100% acrylic emulsion specifically designed for coating asphalt pavement surfaces. The acrylic sealer is job-mixed with select aggregate and applied to the pavement surface, producing a durable, slip resistant coating. The sealant resists scuffing and tracking into buildings and onto floors, whilst proving to be resistant to fuel and chemical attack.

Overlay System (the alternative)

Tarmac overlayUnfortunatley, we often come across driveways where there has been no provision for maintenance and therefore the tarmac wearing course has eroded or worn away. If this is the case we often suggest the use of a new wearing course, which will provide a newly enhanced look for an increased length of time.

We can still offer the traditional Overlay System with today’s quality asphalt onto the surface of a suitable existing base material, which makes this product easy on any budget.
